How Consumer Spending Impacts Industrial Real Estate (Part 2)
In my first video, I discussed consumer spending trends. This video covers how those trends can impact industrial real state
Not all industrial users are equal: While some businesses, like plumbers or HVAC technicians, aren’t as directly impacted by what we buy, others are deeply tied to consumer trends.
•Manufacturers and distribution centers are key: These are the big players when it comes to feeling the effects of consumer spending. If demand for a product drops, manufacturers might not need to expand or build new facilities.
•E-commerce is a game-changer: When we order something online, it kicks off a whole chain of events.
•The journey of an online order: Every online purchase means the product needs to be moved, stored, and delivered. This process relies heavily on industrial buildings and a robust transportation network.
•Bypassing brick-and-mortar: Online shopping often means products skip traditional retail stores, making industrial real estate even more crucial for the supply chain.
•More online shopping, more industrial real estate: The more we buy online, the greater the demand for warehouses and distribution centers to support that entire process. It’s a direct link!
