The Deal That Almost Didn’t Happen

I’ve learned that even when a commercial real estate deal seems to be going smoothly, it’s important not to let your guard down. In one transaction, a delay from a third party threatened to derail the deal and create a difficult outcome for both the buyer and the seller.
What helped us get across the finish line was remembering that we all shared the same goal: closing. The buyer, seller, and agents worked together, with help from the professionals involved along the way. Lenders, attorneys, surveyors, and engineers all have a part to play. A reliable team can make all the difference when challenges arise and the deadline is tight.
